Instrumental

The Instrumental Music Program at Pope John Paul II Preparatory School provides a robust music education experience for students of all levels in various ensembles. Pope Prep offers a middle school instrumental music and intermediate instrumental ensemble. High school offerings include a jazz ensemble, string orchestra, symphonic band, and AP music theory.

In addition to performing at various sporting events and programs in the community and putting on several concerts throughout the year, many members participate in the MTSBOA (Middle Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association) honor ensembles, Sumner County All-County Band, and the Nashville Youth Jazz Ensemble.

Program Highlights

Students are consistently selected to perform in Mid-State Ensembles, All-State Ensembles, Honor Orchestras, All-County Bands, and Solo and Ensemble contests.
The String Orchestra performs the most challenging music (grade 4.5 and grade 5) for the Arts uKnighted Event.
The Orchestra participates in the graduation ceremony at the Grand Ole Opry House.
