In evaluating applicants, the Admissions Office seeks students who have the pre-requisite skills to succeed in a college preparatory program. The evaluation includes an assessment of the student's prior academic record, recommendations of teachers, a placement test, and personal interviews. A wide diversity of scholarly talent exists at JPII and is supported by three levels of academic offerings. Students can choose between Advanced Placement, Honors courses, and College Preparatory program selections, depending on aptitude and work ethic. This will enable students the chance to succeed on a variety of levels.

It is best to apply during the "early action" process and complete the application process before Christmas. By doing so, the incoming student will be able to choose courses in the early spring, which will increase the likelihood of getting the first choice in electives. The early action deadline is November 13, 2020.

Students in the "early action" group, will receive a letter in the mail from the Admissions Office before Christmas. All others will receive notification of acceptance within two weeks of completing the admissions process.

*All steps must be completed first, including the admissions interview, before JPII can consider acceptance.

The Assistant Head of School for Academics will recommend course level to families based on the admissions test, previous grades, letters of recommendation, and the interview process. You will have the chance to discuss recommendations before finalizing.

Enrollment contracts will be mailed with acceptance letters. A non-refundable $300 registration fee is due with the returned signed enrollment contract. Assuming the student successfully completes the current year, he or she is considered “enrolled” at JPII for the following school year.

An enrollment contract may be withdrawn up until April 1, 2021, forfeiting the registration fee. After April 1, 2021, by the terms of the contract, the penalty for withdrawal at any point is $2500 except in the case of a family job transfer out of town.

JPII has a limited amount of financial aid to distribute to families with demonstrated need, which is determined by a third party (FACTS). A student must be accepted through the admissions process before the determination of need is established. Families may complete the financial aid application beginning November 1, 2020, at https://online.factsmgt.com/aid. The deadline for application is February 1, 2021, for the 2021-2022 school year.
