Men's Team
The men's golf team had an outstanding season with a match record of 13-3 in 2009. The Knights’ team won the Father Ryan Invitational, finished 2nd in the Regional Tournament, and made it to the State Tournament for the second time. The team was led by Senior Tanner Taddeo and Senior Anthony Dowdy, along with Junior Jordan Julow, Junior Braden Smith, and Freshman Connor McCarthy. Freshman Connor McCarthy led the team to their second place finish with a 73 which tied for the lowest round of the tournament. Senior Tanner Taddeo finished 5th as an individual in the State Tournament which set a record for the lowest 2-day total of 147 for a Knight golfer. Taddeo, Dowdy, and Julow were named to the All-County golf team with Taddeo named Sumner County’s top golfer. Team members Senior Ryan Kilpatrick, Senior Robert Teal, Junior Taylor Boger, Sophomore Shaun David Coppock, Freshman Michael Resha, and Freshman Alex Matheny all aided in our successful season. On a final note we wish great success to Senior Tanner Taddeo who received a golf scholarship to William and Mary in Virginia and Senior Anthony Dowdy who received a golf scholarship to Charleston Southern University in South Carolina.
